Bed and Breakfast in Shebbear

For that perfect country getaway - a beautiful character room in the Devon Village of Shebbear

Excellent village location

The Old Shop B&B is a ground floor characterful en-suite double bedroom in a 17th century cob and stone house. The room formed part of the village shop since at least the first part of the 1800s until 1989. The en-suite is a wet room with bespoke furniture, made to compliment the historic nature of the building. Perfectly located for use of the charming village pub and it's meals as well as the well stocked current village store.

The Old Shop B&B is part of the same building asTyrella holiday apartment and can be booked as an additional room if required.

The Old Shop B&B is an ideal touring base for your country holiday or to stay in the area to meet friends or relatives. Located in the Square in the heart of Shebbear, it is the perfect base to explore this delightful area.

Shebbear Square hosts the historic `turning the stone' ceremony every 5th November. Just a few yards away is the charming Devil's Stone inn and restaurant. Nearby is Buckland House in Buckland Filleigh which regularly hosts weddings.

We are also ideal if you are attending a local practical course with Mike Wye & Associates or David Savage Furniture .

The North Devon and North Cornish coasts are a short drive with stunning beaches and coves ideal for surfing or walking the coastal path. Nearby there are many attractions, being ideal for golf, Tamar Lakes and Roadford Lake offer coarse and trout fishing, sailing, wind surfing and canoeing, and the leafy Tarka Trail leads walkers and cyclists through superb scenery. Dartmoor, Exmoor, Bodmin Moor and the award winning Eden Project are all easily accessible.

An excellent, well stocked shop 50 yards, pub and restaurant for breakfasts, snacks and main meals 30 yards. Church & Devil's Stone 60 yards. Shebbear College 1/2 mile.

Prices just 50 for the room per night.
Meat free breakfasts or packed lunches can be ordered at 7.50 per person.
